Gabrielle spent Saturday morning with me as I opened @fox.andthefleur Sewickley.

These photos are so special to me. They represent a time, a place and people who have been etched on my heart.

This poplin dress was, by no surprise, designed by @thierrycolsonparis , whose pieces I hold even more dear after losing him this month.

The space was designed by @leannefordcreative . Every corner, even the most utilitarian, is a joy to work in.

And of course is filled with the unmatched talent of Anne Dickson whose work I admired for years and has now become a friend.

Learning to use my dad's 70s Yashica 35mm film camera. These are scans of my first roll, shot in Newport, RI. A humbling but really rewarding process.

If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy,
don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty
of lives and whole towns destroyed or about
to be. We are not wise, and not very often
kind. And much can never be redeemed.
Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this
is its way of fighting back, that sometimes
something happens better than all the riches
or power in the world. It could be anything,
but very likely you notice it in the instant
when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the
case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid
of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.

Phase One of our interior makeover complete. Custom stitched seats by @fortpittclassiccars!

@aliberti_upholsterypgh rebuilt and restuffed my deteriorating seats, color matched the marine grade linen and sage fabric to my exterior, and trimmed in leather.

Next we move to the door panels, existing vinyl, and ceiling.

Thank you @talkpittsburgh and @theheatherabraham for having me on the show today! Seven years (almost to the day) since I met @davidhighfield on @pittsburghtodaylive. What a privilege to have not one, but two chances to introduce my truck to Pittsburgh.

Thank you @talkpittsburgh and @theheatherabraham for having me on the show today! Seven years (almost to the day) since I met @davidhighfield on @pittsburghtodaylive. What a privilege to have not one, but two chances to introduce my truck to Pittsburgh.

In February of 2019, I left my corporate job and bought a rusty Japanese mini truck off Craigslist with a tax return check and absolutely zero experience.

I spent three months fixing it up, learning to drive stick shift, painting, and figuring things out as I went. The reception was something I never could have planned. The truck ended up all over Pittsburgh. We popped up at coffee shops, markets, festivals, grand openings, weddings, showers, and neighborhood events. We were sold out all season and there were many days when the line wrapped around the block.

In March of 2020, all of our lives changed. I won’t belabor the year in this post but eventually, our new storefront was closed, the truck was sold, and I thought that chapter was over.

But sometimes the stories that matter most have a way of finding their way back to you.

Around Christmastime this year, I had the opportunity to buy my truck back (more on that soon).

She’s a little rougher around the edges than you remember. There is rust, there are dents, repairs to made, and plenty of work ahead. But after all these years, she’s home again.

So we’re rebuilding. Because this little truck brought a lot of joy into my life, and hopefully into yours too.

Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing the process of bringing her back to her original glory, along with life updates and plenty of flowers.

It’s good to be back.
